Postby Nanoose » Wed Nov 25, 2009 12:36 pm

Today I was serching for something to add to the – A Bob Marley Christmas thread but got side tracked by some information about Ska music. I had always thought that Ska music was origanally born in England but found it was born in Jamacia before Reggae music. Cheers!

What's pushing us apart isn't loneliness what's holding us together isn't love. Listen to the man who's been touched all his life yes he's the one they call the fool. Where is that savoir of the sidewalk life and the road that takes us to the crusades? We still got along way to go yes we still got a along way to go.

Not sure if skiffle is the same as Ska but I do I remember that song but not by that group - there was another good one in the related video section - Hello Muddah hello Faddah –they don’t write then like that no more. Cheers!

I was reading about the Specials this morning it said that they brought unity to
music – black musicians performing with white musicians.
Now what I am wondering is when the British invasion hit North America
there was no second generation Ska music just groups like the Beatles est. and
I bet the North American Governments made it that way.
I also bet groups like the Specials made an impact on the youth of Britain
and some of them did turn their life around - could have been some of youths in North America too. Cheers!

That’s a good one but it got my curiosity going because of the guns of Navarone part.
I tried doing some researh to see if it was Jamacains that helped the British take out those guns and didn’t find anything exept this Ska song was in a movie. Could you please translate the following. Cheers!
