Something my son posted on facebook about the wife and I

When I was a kid I didn't have a computer, Nintendo DS, XBox, or Wii. I had a bike and a curfew. My toys were the outside world. If I didn't eat what was made, I didn't eat & I dealt with it. I didn't dare to talk back & I got in BIG TROUBLE if I did. Life wasn't hard, it was Life... And I survived. Repost if you appreciate the way you were raised.

second part

kids today are too soft and spoiled, parents of today you are doing your children no favors by caving to their every whim, they call this generation the entitlment generation for a reason if you spoil and coddle someone for their childhood they expect special treatment as an adult

What's pushing us apart isn't loneliness what's holding us together isn't love. Listen to the man who's been touched all his life yes he's the one they call the fool. Where is that savoir of the sidewalk life and the road that takes us to the crusades? We still got along way to go yes we still got a along way to go.

Thanks. You know the boy was exaggerating a bit when he said he knew he would get in
BIG TROUBLE - and he did have toys – I distinctly remember buying him a new wood splitting maul one year. (they got toys for Christmas)
Both my boys have thanked me for not making their life too easy and it came as a bit of a surprise both times. When they were in their late teens they called me a Hurting Buddy for about a year not because I beat them but because I made rules like –
School before bro’s and hoe’s – they must of half listened to me because they both have good lady’s in their life. Cheers and happy week end!

Kids don't need toys, they need hammers to bang nails, a lawn mower to mow the yard.......my kids have had more fun with a hammer and nails then they had doing anything else...except watching TV or playing on-line.
