Hi Tinks,

I don't think there'll be much "Superclubs stamping", they'll change the "Starfish" signs and logos to the recognized Breezes ones. It has been a part of the Superclubs family for quite some time now... You're right in that it used to be called Trelawny Beach Resort (in fact my first trip to Jamaica in the 80's was there) It turned in to Starfish in the late 90's I believe.

They will do some refurbishing (they've already done quite a bit over the last couple years)

I don't like the achitectural style of the resort myself, but it is typically such an awesome value that I think it's a great resort to enjoy 'the best of both worlds' so to speak... You can have the luxury of an all-inclusive (buffet all-you can eat breakfast is a great way to start the day for example) yet still not break the bank on the price inso that You can get out and about as much as You want and not feel like You have to get your money's worth by staying on the resort. Even though I prefer a bit smaller (and one or two storey) resorts myself also, I think Starfish makes up for it in some other ways... like the BEACH !! The beach there is beautiful and long and there's basically only one other resort on the entire stretch so it's still rather 'deserted'... The location too, being only a half-hour from the airport and really close to Historic Falmouth is good too, not to mention that all rooms have an in-room mini bar so You don't have to call it a night when the bars close :)

I believe it will remain rather popular with residents. I think they'll continue to offer special rates and host honour students etc, like they always have.

The prices have gone up but not really much at all (they may eventually go up more I imagine). They will no longer have any surcharges as they did for the restaurants etc, so it's all relative... With the prices they're offering lately I think it'll actually come out a little less costly than it was for the average guest (using lets say 4 of the surcharge restaurants per week)

I'm going to try and visit there the first week of October, so hopefully I'll have more info then.

Blessings and respect to you.
