Stolen Socks at the Eco House

Postby ECO » Sun Jul 12, 2009 7:02 pm

Some people like a collection of purses, some like a collection of bracelets, I like to own a bunch of comfortable socks. Somebody likes to steal my socks and this is starting to drive me nuts.

In the past year I've purchased around 30 pairs of white ankle socks and now I have one pair left. Since I don't buy cheap socks I can clearly state that not one pair was thrown away during this time. Along with my ankle socks, a dozen pairs of tall white socks are missing and about a dozen pairs of my Smart Wool socks are missing.

I searched my kids room thinking that maybe they liked to wear my socks and didn't find one of them. Everyone in my house claims that they have noticed their socks missing as well. We do our own laundry so I can rule out theft at a laundry mat, we use a clothes dryer so I can rule out them blowing away on a clothes line.

While it's hard to believe that someone is entering my home and stealing my socks I'm at a loss thinking of other ways that they are vanishing. Yesterday I bought 12 pairs of socks that I am now hiding in my truck (not kidding) since I will not leave my house without a clean pair of socks on.

Help me out, where are my socks vanishing to?

Lol, we all take our clothes and throw them down the stairs to our basement, from there they are collected and carried 20 feet to the washer machine which is a front loader so no chance of them falling behind it.

Lol, yes I looked under the bed thinking maybe our cat made a bed out of them.

I really think some sicko with a sock fetish breaks into our home a few times a week. I almost forgot, I got a package of socks two weeks ago as a gift and I only wore them once........they are gone!

I would not mind it if some sort of sock ferry was taking my socks and giving them to people in need. All I ask of the sock ferry is to leave me a sticky note to buy more socks every time the ferry steals my socks.

Okay, lets see ho is a suspect and who is'nt.

Lets cross out the family, the cat , under the bed, behaind the washer and dryer.

Since you have'nt confermed fairy, it stays on the list of suspect along with the foot fetish perv.

Suspects

1. sock ferry

2. Unknown sock fetish perv

3. Neighbors son who we caught a few years ago stealing food from our freezer. Also stole 1/4 ounce of my special herbs but I could not prove that.

4. Bajanbabe or Tinks (they like to drive me crazy).

5. Rose21, acting concerned or concerned that she is a suspect?

Acting concern yes, acting concern as if i am a suspect in the case of your missing socks no? The others i can't conferm for them.

So now i'll add the kid next door to the list.

Wait a minute someone has been very silent in the case of the missing socks WAHOO!

You are correct and if I'm not mistaken he was eyeballing my socks in Negril when I met him there. Now I'm thinking that Wahoo is stealing them and giving them to his son's sports team.

OK, I confess...it was me who raided Eco's stash of special herbs. But I didn't touch his stinky socks!

My socks don't stink because I wear shoes that have tons of vent holes to let fresh air in. I might look into some shoes that don't vent so my 8-) socks will stink if that will deter the sock bandit.

What I'd do is put a nest of Africanized killer bees in your sock drawer. Then the next time the kid next door tries to purloin a pair of your socks...SURPRISE!!!

If you can't get any killer bees, a Burmese python should do the trick.
