Its been all over the news in the UK this morning....

When I left home this morning, there were 2 possible cases in Scotland, 20 cases of swine flu reported in the US and six in Canada. There are also suspected cases in New Zealand, France, Spain, Israel and Australia.

So far 103 people have died in Mexico of suspected Swine Flu.

According to the BBC News:

Swine flu is a respiratory disease thought to spread through coughing and sneezing
Symptoms mimic those of normal flu - but in Mexico people are beginning to die
Good hygiene like using a tissue and washing hands thoroughly can help reduce transmission

However most doctors currently agree that there is alot of scare-mongering going on...

I never listen to the news so in my eyes nothing negative ever happens anywhere in the world---I like it that way!

On a side note, customs asked me if I touched any livestock while I was in Jamaica.......since I don't count cute little baby goats as livestock I answered no.

LOL...I came back sniffling a little..wonder if I should panick??? It kinda is going away today so it might have just been the climate change. haha..if not my house is going down!!

I always pay attention to this stuff..fear mongering or not the media after a point of craziness often gets censured by the medical community to think things are less of a problem than they are. When SARS happened....the hospital's denied the severity for a long time due to an attempt to keep " fear mongering" from happening..and then the problem got out of control because the public was unaware of the severity and therefore not taking proper precautions.

Im not saying it's as bad as it could be...but the medical community hides alot!! As does government.....so I say take any and all precautions because nobody ever thinks it will happen to them!

Its so scary...there was tons of people coming from Mexico going through customs the same time as us....and rechecking bags on the same flight back to Calgary. You never think anything about it when your jet lagged and depressed to be coming home....but its kinda scary now!!
