On July first 2010 the HST tax went into effect in BC even though 92% of British Columbians were against it Part of the reason people were against it was they couldn’t figure out how it could be such a good thing for BC like the BC Government promised it would be (it’s a very confusing tax). So the BC Government announced their plan to send every household in BC a information packet about how the HST tax worked.
Last week the BC Government announced that they were scrapping the information packets and would focus on radio and TV advertisements to explain the tax to British Columbians. They had already printed millions of the information packets so that’s a waste of money and the radio and TV ads are a waste of money because they are just an advertisement pushing HST.
About a year ago Ontario was the first Province to have HST and they went from a struggling Province with a high unemployment # to a struggling Province with a high unemployment # but know their economy is listed as being unstable. (what ever that means maybe they will send me a pamphlet to explain it)

Foreign aid when we need it at home.

Supporting generations of welfare families instead of cutting them off or giving them the tools to provide on their own.

These stupid programs to rebuild the economy that don't provide any/many new jobs.

Funding public transport while we import cars........magically at the same time our car factories are closing and we have more people on welfare.

Spending money to investigate, prosecute and send ganja users/growers to jail. Take all of the ganja users/dealers out of jail and the criminal justice system in general and look and the giant stack of money that we will save.

Did I mention foreign aid.....if you want our money you can become the 51st state without our welfare benefits.......we will exploit your natural resources, exploit your people and then give you to someone who cares like Canada.

As I've mentioned on here before, I'm in favor of a flat per person tax. I'm tired of giving almost 50% of my earnings to my government (state/local/federal/sales taxes...) when others give nothing and get my money. I can completely understand giving aid to the elderly, handicapped and war veterans but fuc the lazy mutha fuckers! If you want to have 10 kids then pay up the flat per person tax of $5000 per year for each one.....don't punish the motivated so the lazy fuckers can milk the system. The system is almost at a point where you can sit at home and no nothing and be better off than if you have the motivation to get a job and give real life a try. With that said, I met some people from a socialist country (no not the US) who explained their welfare system and it made ours (USA) look like peanuts. They claimed that in their country all you had to do was say you are looking for a job and you get pretty much every thing a working person gets (housing, food, clothing, expenses, education.......).

Give me back my tax dollars and I'll spend them like everyone else to change this bad economy!

But.......and more on topic with the forum, when Jamaicans told me how much they love our sitting president and I told them how much money he takes from me.......and used an example like he was trying to take it from them they didn't love him so much....thought he was a criminal. Think about it, you work really hard.....long hours everyday some weeks/months you don't get a day off and your reward is that you are forced to give 50% of your money to a government.......and if you work harder they will just take more.......fornicating without passion sick in my opinion.

I don't really have a "big black ass," but that phrase captures my indignation more forcefully than if I had said "my big, cellulite-ridden pink ass." Just wanted to clarify.

I gasped when I seen that 50% tax thing – does ever working person pay 50%?
That HST I was complaining about is only 12% and I am still part of the working poor.
I am also trailer trash – but that’s not my Governments fault - I just like being trailer trash. Cheers!

Not everyone pays 50% some more and many much less.

Sales tax around 7% on almost every penny you spend (each state sets their own rate).

Town excise taxes on cars, I have one sitting on my desk for $868.75 for the honor of owning my truck each year No clue how much they get me every year for my van.

Our state tax is 5-6% of what we make.

Our federal taxes depend on how much you make generally around 25-30% covers it.

Then we have special taxes on gas, tobacco products.

Then there are all of the goofy sources of collecting money that I dump right into the tax bucket. Examples:

My state forces me to register my business with them for a one time fee of $100.....now that they are need of money they want $100 a year and I get to stay out of jail.

Every 5 years I have to pay $1200 so the feds and two states can let me risk my health working with lead.

Stickers for our license plates cost $$$ and they are a form of taxation.....our drivers licenses cost $$...driving on some roads cost $.... the list doesn't have an end.

GST and PST have been combined into this new HST - the BC Government said we wouldn’t be paying any more taxes then we used to but yet some restaurants (for example) have said that they have lost 10% of their business since the HST went into effect on July 1st 2010 and some business have had to lay off or cut hours of employees.
Did a little figuring and about 21% of the money I make goes into taxes – also I was thinking taxes aren’t ever thing you got to also think about the cost of living – like were I pay $4.99 for 4 litters of mike you pay around $2 for a gallon.
The only thing I can think of that might be cheaper in BC then in America is ganja sometimes you can pick up a pound of bud for $800 but a pound of BC bud goes for around $4.500 in America. Unfortunately what they usually do is trade a pound of BC bud for a pound of coke and to quote the Ramones I’m against it. Cheers!
