Tell me something bad

Postby Nanoose » Sat Feb 27, 2010 1:29 pm

A few weeks ago I was going to make a tell me something bad thread and I was going to say that the bad thing for me is that only 3% of the products sold on Vancouver Island come from Vancouver Island. So 97% of the things I consume and use have an additional ferry coast attached to them. But then I started thinking that it might sound like I was whining – after all the additional ferry coasts probably isn’t that much and all I had to do to absorb the cost is to plant a few more of my 2 lips – I mean tulips.

Here comes the bad part.

Yesterday when I as going to work I noticed a dead dog in the ditch on my street.
After work I asked around and found out whose dog it probably was then went over and let them know. The bad part is I live in a seclude area and it is mostly just local traffic so the neighbor that hit that dog 2 months ago should of found out who it belong to and let them know. For 2 months that family – 2 adults and 3 kids have been hoping their dog would come home. The dog was decomposing so it must of been pretty awful for the guy to pick it up out of the ditch and give it a proper burial..

Cheers and happy week end!

You folks don't have wild animals that eat road kill?

I was about to add something about Chinese fast food joints as well but I think the joke about them selling cat meat and roadkill is a little old.

We do have scavengers but I think what happened is 2 months ago the temperatures were below zero for a few days then it would warm for a few days then it freeze again for a
few days then warm up again so the meat rotated so bad even the scavengers wouldn’t eat it.. Any way it was pretty bad petty and sad. Cheers and happy weekend!

A slimy slug wiped out ¾ of my ganja plants what makes it even worse is - 5 of those plants were a special one of a kind strain and that strain had a lot of sentimental value.
The strain was a 45 day mighty mite cross and it did well in low light areas (which is kind of amassing). It took a friend of the family years to develop that strain and once he developed it he needed some help testing it in the field. and some help keeping the strain alive for 8 generations.
6 years ago when he first gave me the seeds I had to promise not to give away or sell any of those seeds or any seeds that come from them - because he was afraid someone would alter his strain plus he wanted some thing one of a kind that he created.
2 years ago when he died I figured I would keep him alive (in a sense) by keeping his strain alive for the full 8 years but because of the slug I will be 2 years short – pretty sure he is not going to come back and haunt me because he probably knows I tried. Cheers!

Crack and or meth has claimed another kid in my community and it’s a little personal this time because I used to buy my girl guide cookies from this kid.
Don’t know why but music helps me deal with things or find answers so here is a video by Girlschool called race with the devil. Cheers!

Today I noticed another dead Arbutus tree and it’s extra bad because I am starting to see that in 10 years there won’t be an Arbutus tree alive on Vancouver Island.
The only place in the world that an Arbutus tree grows naturally is on Vancouver Island and they are an extremely difficult or impossible tree to transplant so chances are it’s extinction time for the Arbutus tree. About 5 years ago people starting figuring that in 20 years all the Arbutus trees would be dead but it’s starting to look like it will be more like 15.

I figure Alder trees are dieing off too. Most people around here don’t care about Alder trees but Alder trees do 2 cool things that not many other trees can do.
Like all trees Alders pump oxygen into the air but Alders are one of the few trees that also pump oxygen into the soil plus they store oxygen in little thingeys that grow on their roots. (the little thingeys have a scientific name)

Alders are also one of the few trees that have the same heat signature as a ganja plant.
Sometimes I like to imagine a couple of cops in a helicopter and one cop says – never mind it’s just a clump of Alders. Then the other cop says - hey do you think those stoners know about the heat signature thingey - then at the same time they say – naaaaa and fly off into the sunset. Cheers!

A ninth savored foot has been found recently this one was in Washington State. 7 were found in BC and 2 in Washington but I think they are connected to the same serial killer.
I included a link to some theories about the savored foot mystery – there is a video at the top of the page that is advertisement the article is under the vid. Cheers!

PS: I was mistaking about the Arbutus tree thing (mentioned in a post above) apparently there are Arbutus trees in parts of Oregon and Brazil.

I have heard that story also Eco. It was believed that Chinese fast food sell cat meat and roadkill. There are no proofs presented though.

Peeked in on another popular Jamaica forum this morning to see what's doing over there, and it's been overrun by spammers. I don't want to sound mean or anything, but I hope each and every one of those scum-sucking, bottom-feeding spammers get venereal warts!

I know times are tough (though when have times ever not been tough, except for all those times Bill Clinton shook his finger in the faces of the American public and claimed to have balanced the budget  ...remember those?), but I hope there's a whole circle of Purgatory awaiting the spammers.

Lol, one spammer was able to fill up almost 4 complete pages with threads last week when I checked. Deleting threads and users takes time, I feel for them. :jestercolor:

Today I found out one of my grounds keeping customer has Altimzer.
I’m sad for her and in a strange way I’m sad for myself – maybe in a year or so she won’t rember who I am or all the 2 lips – I mean tulips that I planted for her. (a few of her pleasures in life are siting in a room with flowers well reading a book in front of the wood stove)
A few months ago I made a post about 2 retired nurses that I split fire wood for and how ever time I split wood for them they always remide me that Alva likes them big and Leigth likes them small.
So I guess in a year or so she might not rember she likes them big.

Rembering me or not dosent change the fact that she spent 30 years sharing her knowledge and skills or the fact that a few years ago a bunch of Nurses from around the World came to Vancouver Island to thank Alva for her past teaching and suport so that they could become good nures. Some of the students that Alva taught went into teaching nursing so I figure it’s a the circle is compleat sort of thing.

Rembering me or not also dosent change the fact that when the nurses visited Vancouver Island they also visted Alva and Leigth’s house and on that day 10 or 20 nurses from around the World knew that I was the guy that planted the 2 lips - I mean tulips aroud there. Cheers!

After reading this article about the Earth's changing magnetic field (http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/02/ ... est=faces# =), I guess I can leave my compass out of my survival kit if I get the urge to hike thru Cockpit Country. With all the math now involved in correcting for magnetic North, I'd probably end up in the Cuba! :yipes:

Nah, most maps have area corrections to the magnetic deviance --- think that's the term. I was surf fishing on the tip of NJ looking at New York years ago and discovered it when my compass and map were not correct at getting me to some drop offs. If my memory is correct, it was off something like 13 degrees?

Yesterday a little birdie (a stewardess) told me that the Nanoose Bay Canadian Forces Maritime Test Range doesn’t just lease the facility to the United States they lease to 2 or 3 other Courtiers and Korea is one of them. They test things like torpedoes and ship to shore communication at the test range.
I don’t think it’s a good idea so I am thinking of going down to the bass and protest by chaining myself to a ship (but not a submarine) Cheers!

Hmm, wonder why we need a test range up there when we have a perfectly good one where I sail.

Scared the crap out of me the first time I noticed on the chart that I was in a torpedo range.......

Its because of the depth and type of sea bed it makes it easy to recover the torpedoes there are very few places in the World with similar conditions. It apparently saves the United States a billion dollars a year testing there they test a little over 400 torpedoes a year.
As far as I know up until a short time ago the United States was the only Country that was giving a lease so I was surprised to hear that Korea now leases there to. Cheers!
