The Forum Had It's First Birthday Party

Postby ECO » Mon Feb 22, 2010 11:04 am

but....someone forgot to send out the birthday party invites.

Board started: 12 Feb 2009 05:57 pm

When the forum first started it was actually started on another one of my sites until we decided to use the present URL's (jamaicatravelforum.com & jamaicaNtravelforum.com). I just renewed the URL's/domain names for a couple more years and that is when the little OMFG bell rang in my head. Most forums don't last a month, fewer last 3-6 months and only a few make it to see their first year.

After a year we have:

Almost 100 members (99) and the membership list is "pruned" once in a while to delete spammers and zero post members.

13,400 posts, even though the number is closer to 20,000 factoring in the two times the forum had database/hacks.

Around 10% of our active members were here when this forum first started.

We get around 8000 visits a month that look at 66,000 pages

Thanks everyone for keeping this place alive

Happy Birthdy JAB!

What's pushing us apart isn't loneliness what's holding us together isn't love. Listen to the man who's been touched all his life yes he's the one they call the fool. Where is that savoir of the sidewalk life and the road that takes us to the crusades? We still got along way to go yes we still got a along way to go.

Please don't mention prunes again. I don't need yet another reminder that I'm probably the oldest one here.

Nope, we don't celebrate age related mile stones, we celebrate "bithdays". A bithday is a Greek unit of measuring.......a bith is one cycle of 4 seasons that begin and end on the same day. The "day" part is when the measuring period is up.

If you believe that I have an excuse for everyone of my 200 typos of this forum.

Time to edit the title before more people notice my error ;-)
