On the day trip I took to Dunn's River Falls on my first trip to Jamaica, it was where my tour bus stopped for lunch before heading on to the falls, and what a memorable experience it was. Scrumptious Asian fare with a gorgeous waterfall and as the centerpiece. And narrow stone steps lead above the waterfall to a splendid garden with all types of trees and plants found throughout the island (eg, breadfruit, ackee, papaya). And the self-appointed tour guide who attaches himself to you in the gardens, knows his stuff and will teach you all about the plants and their medicinal and other properties, but be warned he'll try to shake you down after the "tour" for your last Jamaican dollar. And if you don't give him enough of a contribution the first time, he's not ashamed to demand "Give me some more!" I'd return to The Ruins in a heartbeat if I'm ever in Ocho Rios again. I'd just be sure to state a stern "No, thanks" to the unofficial "tour guide" in the garden.

Rub it in, Tinks (since you know I'll be stuck in Negril)!
Pssst...does the offer of one side of your double bed still go?
