There is Another ME

Postby ECO » Thu Mar 04, 2010 3:29 pm

So I wake up this morning and see an e-mail from AA confirming my flight from Chicago to Dallas and back to Chicago later this week. Hmmm, :scratchheadblue: I live close to Boston, how am I going to get to Chicago for my flight? Wait, I have stuff to do this weekend and while I like Texas I don't want to go there this week! So, I check the e-mail addy----yup it's mine......I check the name......yup it's me...........so, did I get high last night (no) and book a trip not knowing where I live?

I ended up checking the credit card # and figured out it was not mine.....so, if I did have a wacky night last night at least I didn't use my own credit card to book a trip that I have no plans of taking!

After calling American, I found out that another dude with my name paid a travel agent in CA for the trip and the travel agent must of used the wrong e-mail addy. Once I gave them the transaction number I was able to ask them where "I" lived and other questions.......I wonder (since they thought I was the other guy) if I could of canceled "my flight" and use the money for another trip to Jamaica :birthday:

LMOA You called them! I would not called them once i found out it 's not my credit card. Too bad for that person, let him take it up with AA.

Come to think of it, if I was in that position I would want the other me who recieve the confermation to call AA and clear things up. Don't like when i'm being mean.

I was worried that someone somehow opened a credit card using my credit info.....that would be bad!

I just got another e-mail..... should I change his seats?

Har! This reminds me of my first job after graduating from college. Had a low-level, sucky job in the admissions office at UVa in my hometown, and I kept getting messages on my home phone reminding me of presentations I was scheduled to give at the law school there. Apparently, there was a professor or graduate law student with the same name as mine, and I'd get phone messages intended for that guy. :rolling:

Eco, if you're booked on AA for your April trip to Jamdung, be sure to check in at least 5 bags of luggage. That way, if your flight crashes on landing and the plane breaks into 3 pieces and the airline recompenses passengers $5,000 dollars per bag like they did for flight 331, you could come out at least $25,000 on top...if you survive the crash.

I don't know if "recompenses" is a real word, but it came from my gut, and I always trust my gut instincts. ;-)

Lol, I sort of forgot all about my opinion of flying with them after I posted in the AA crash thread! $150 for my flight down & the chance to make $$$$ if they crash and pay me for my luggage............

I just posted in another thread about them and allowing two bags for flights to/from Jamaica.... maybe I should edit my post with a disclaimer about them crashing all the time.
