Is there a Denny's in Jamaica?

Postby Wahoo » Tue Jun 14, 2011 7:13 pm

Just wondering if one's popped up since my last visit some 2 years ago. Of course, nothing's finer when you have a major case of the munchies than stopping off at Miss Sonia's, bringing a couple of her patties back to your room, and lying in bed listening to the tree frogs and reggae from Alfred's, stuffing those patties in your face, and wiping your hands on the sheets. :dreads:

All sorts of American places but I've never seen a Denny's. TGI Fridays is there.....Burger Kings all over the place......KFC (locals say it's good). Rumor has it Mc Donald's was there but failed and they packed up.

Well, that totally sux 'cause I could really go for one of them Denny's Grand Slam breakfasts rite now. Although I generally don't patronize restaurants that don't have an ABC license.

A small flask of rum is easy enough to smuggle in! I had one in my camera bag yesterday and saved $$.........

Why didn't I think of that? I must be losing my touch. I had a fine (and expensive) silver flask when I was a high school puke. Bought it at Eljos, a popular fine men's clothiers on The Corner at UVa. Used to fill it with Seagram's VO on nights my buds and I went to the movies, back when people still went to the movies (I recall mixing my Seagrams' VO with Coca-Cola while watching Easy Rider when it hit the theaters in the late sixties). Gave my beloved flask to a buddy of mine when I enlisted in the Marines.

No, I'm talking about the small bottles you buy in glass....no need for fancy stuff. I saved my bottle from the other night and will now use it for overproof......one flask should be good for an event!

You mean those little airline bottles? Or half-pint bottles? ABC stores in roadkill Va used to stock half-pint bottles, but I'm not sure they still do. Been a while since I last wandered into an ABC store.

Wouldn't it be great if airlines served pint bottles instead of those likkle nip size bottles?

Even better if they ran those O2 hoses to a nice could keg and we had an unlimited about of cold beer flowing at all times.

Just to satisfy my curiosity, and because this has been one hellacious work week (paying taxes so The Mooch and her village can vacay in Africa) and I needed a stiff drink, I stopped off at the nearest ABC store after work this evening to see if they do still stock half pints of hooch. To my surprize, they do! A few brands, anyway. So I bought a half pint of Jack Daniels black label Tennessee sour mash whiskey, which is now history. so time to switch from whiskey to beer...very risky...who knows where this night could lead? I know my massage therapist's phone number is here somewhere...

Not to get off topic but...I've been wondering if those massage people provide a better happy ending than what people can provide on their own. I passed by a couple in a seedy part of town today and was tempted to find out but I'm not paying $80 to have someone do what I can do for free.

Sometimes there's just no substitute for a woman's touch.

Helpful tip: Don't swagger in like a cop.Only cops and iron pumpers on steroids swagger. They know this. Swagger=no happy ending.
