Postby jellybean » Tue Sep 22, 2009 5:50 pm

Today I woke up and thought wow only 3 pay days until Crimbo........................has anyone started making any plans.

Do you buy lots of presents?

Do you have a traditional Xmas?

Who do you spend it with?

During December and January I hardly get any work so we have to buy our Christmas stuff during the fall. (food and presents) So from now until November Christmas will be in our shopping plans but come December I don’t have to fight the crowds at the mall.

I buy a total of 5 presents for ever Christmas - 2 for my 2 sons and 2 for their wife’s also one for my wife. All at $50 and if the boys buy the wife and I a present its for $50 each limit.

I usually do have a traditional Christmas – turkey - tree est. but this will be the 2rnd Christmas that my youngest son and his wife can’t make it for the holidays..

Friends and family is who I spend Christmas with.
Merry Christmas and happy New year!

Bum!!

Haven't thought about Christmas at all!!!

Maybe this year I will plan a little so I can at least feel better out this one that I have for the past 3 years (since I left the last company)...

I had decided a little while back that I wouldn't be doing the tree/decoration thing - but I don't think I have that in me... not now you've reminded me how close it is and prompted me to work out where my Christmas CD's are!!!!

I guess the blue light I had for 2008 will again light the streets of Dollis Hill and lead the world to my home!!!

As always I'll spend Christmas day with my family at my parents house no doubt - Mummy, Daddy, Brothers, Sister and all the family... unless of course we can persuade the newly weds to cook!!! (She is v.good!!!)

Will have gifts for the kids (unless I win the lottery) and my parents - but thats it... NO DONNA!!!

The other thing I will defo try to do is the new annual angels christmas drink... where shall we go this year peeps???

I LOVE Christmas! I start thinking of the next one on boxing day!! :)

I have only ever spent one Christmas away from my parents. This year will be with them again. We (husband, kids and I) have a quiet morning at home, and head to my parents in the afternoon. It is always a traditional meal - turkey and all the trimmings for dinner, and trifle for dessert.

My husband and I don't exchange gifts, and my brother, sister and I agreed to stop exchanging. I still buy for my parents, and of course for our kids and my niece!

If all goes well I will be spending it in Aruba with my mom, dad and brother and my dad's family. I might bring a man to introduce to my parents but I aint sure yet. We do Turkey, Ham, Mashed P's, gravy, veggies and more ... oh and MACARONI PIE!!! Oh I cant wait to go to my MIL.. she'll make a whole pie JUST for MOI!!!! We do gifts under the tree and the whole 9 yards.. after that we remain brokes the whole year until the next Xmas!!!

Broke as a joke this year, so I have invited my family for potluck LOL. and have requested that no gifts are exchanged and we all just spend time together!!
Accept everything about yourself, I mean everything. You are you and that is the beginning and the end, no apologies, no regrets.

A very popular Christmas activity is going to see the National Christmas tree and all of the state trees on the Ellipse. I would also go to the Botanical Gardens for their display of poinsettias, etc. You could also go ice skating at the Scuplture Garden rink.
A note on the Terra Cotta Warriors show. I went last Wednesday and was advised to show up 15 minutes after the time on my ticket. By that time, the first of the two rooms has cleared out a bit so you don't have so many people crowding around to see the artifacts. If you don't do the audio tour, it should take just about 1 hour to fully see the exhibit.

Well there is nothing more Christmassy then a State Christmas tree display or a display of poinsettias in full bloom but I am a little confused about the Terra Cotta Warriors part.
If I am not mistaken they are something to do with priceless statues and ancient China.
So if you are saying that you will be given out Terra Cotta Warrior statues to your new friends on JAB I have to say that personally I would rather have a new chain saw.
Cheers – welcome to the Forum and merry Christmas!
