In the 80s Doug and the Slugs were famous and they packed night clubs and stadiums were ever they played.
I like to think that their favorite place to play was at the Rod and Gun tavern (my stopping grounds) You can only fit about 200 people in that bar so I don’t think they played there for the money. Cheers and enjoy!

Today I remembered the real name of the group that used to perform in foam rubber cowboy suits – it was Primus. I still couldn’t remember the song title but did a Google search for Primus + video + youtube and was surprised to see Winona's Big Brown Beaver at the top of the page. The video is pretty funny and for 3 guys in foam rubber cowboy suits their really rocking. Cheers and happy week end!

I just seen that the enbedding is dissabled and the watch it on youtube dosen’t seem to work.
But if youu do a search for primus + winona's big brown beaverr + youtube – you will find it

Nanoose, what the hell are you trying to learn Austrian for? You planning to go skiing in the Alps or something? True story, my father's cousin is married to an Austrian woman he met when stationed in the Army in Europe during WWII. She was married and left her husband and family in Austria to come to America to marry my father's cousin. That tore her family in Austria apart, and one of her grown sons committed suicide. That has never endeared our family (outside of my father's cousin) to her. That and the fact that she talks incessantly about how Austria flourished and prospered under Hitler before he went insane.

I spent 2 years in high school and 2 more in college trying to learn Spanish. What a waste of time that was!

Loved Pure Prairie League! Saw them and John Prine at Mem Gym at UVa in the seventies. You could almost see them, thru the smoke, on stage.

I have been thinking of buying a pot vaporizer they cost about $400 but they are a very efficient and healthy way of smoking. So eventually you get your money back on he weed you save plus there is nothing harmful going into your lungs. Cheers and thanks!

Let me know if you do get a vaporizer I would much rather get a good brand if I'm going to spend that type of money. A couple months ago I met some old (80-90) year old guy at a bar and he swears by his but go figure the stoner can't remember the brand.

Pipe at home, papers when I leave home so the po po can't find anything.

Well I don’t remember Amazing Rhythm Aces or Pure Prairie League but maybe only because I heard them during my summer of black outs. Here is a song that kind of explains that summer. Cheers!

After making a post in the family Forum that was partly about big Bobby Stobes a wannabe gangster I started thinking about a song by Wheatus called – Wannabe Gangster. The post was also about my 2 sons not wanting their little sister going through hump’em and dump’em situations and a song by Wheatus always reminds me of that.
Cheers and happy weekend!

That is a finger snapping tune.
I did a Google search on the group and found that the song was about -
Buffalo Bill, the fictitious serial killer featured in the 1991 film, The Silence of the Lambs.
I thought the guy in that film was called Hanabale the canable.
Also confused becaues I thought it was bassed on a real serial killer but it says –
“fictiitious” – dosent that word mean fiction? Any way cheers and thanks for posting the finger snapping song!

The following song by Trio helped me get an A on a math coarse because sometimes
when I got frustated because I couln’t solve the problem I would sing the song
in my head and it kind of cleard it so I could start fresh.
Once as an experament I tried singing a differt song in my head - I can’t
rember the tittle or who sings it but it goes something like this –

“Into my room he creeps without making a sound – into my dreams he peaks
with his hair all long and hanging down
(something - something – something) I guess I’m going to stay with him awile.”

It didn’t work and I wound up getting an F on the test.

(Goofing about the F thing) Cheers and enjoy!

I found another Trio video that wasn't disabled like the one I posted above.
I included the lyrics in case you want to sing along. Cheers!

Aha aha aha

What you will and what you won't. What you do and what you don't. What you can and what you can't. This is what you need to know: Loved you though it didn't show

da da da - da da da - da da da

Da da da I don't love you you don't love me. Da da da I don't love you you don't love me. Da da da I don't love you you don't love me. Da da da I don't love you you don't love me

(whispered)

I know why you ran away, aha. Understand you couldn't stay, aha. Wonder where you are today, aha. After all was said and done it was right for you to run!

da da da da da da da da da

Da da da I don't love you you don't love me. Da da da I don't love you you don't love me.
Da da da I don't love you you don't love me. Da da da I don't love you you don't love me

da da da (repeat to fade

Its German and means – “I love you – you don’t love me”

I was thinking if you would like to hear a way better version of the song cheak out the one I posted above that was dissabled you will have to watch it on youtube. Google – Trio + da da da + youtube
it is the fist video at the top - has a pitcher of a guy in a white t-shirt sitting at a table drinking vodka. Also says - 3 min 11 sec - 6 Jul 2006

Cheers!

One of Wahoo's favorite PPL cuts...slide steel guitar at its finest...wish I had a dollar for every time I kicked back and listened to it after a couple of bong hits of columbian red-bud:

That is a cool one - slide guitars have a sound all their own.
Wondering if it was Pure Prairie League that put out an album titled –
The Adventures of Panama Red the album had a comic book inside of it. (in the 60s or 70s)
I had forgotten about Red Hair pot – back in the day it was the best and real special if you scored some. Cheers!
