I thought this was a very interesting article to share from a visitor to Jamaica during Independence.

I have not been in Jamaica for YEARS for independence, hopefully one day I will be able to and report back!

No. Jamaica Independence Day is not a tourist attraction.

They don't have free rides on the amusement park rides and free autograph signings by Mickey Mouse?

Maybe my statement was not clear or you are reading into what I said..........how about: Does the Jamaica Independence Day attract tourists? = Do tourists flood the island to partake in the events?
