Travel Channel Video of Negril

A Travel Channel short video of Negril. Why they tried to capture all of Negril in a 2 minute video is beyond me but here goes:

If you are hinting that Negril or Jamaica paid for the movie I was thinking the same thing. I watched a show on the top 10 beaches in the world a few weeks ago with the same feeling that the Travel Channel might not be pure in heart when it comes to what areas they promote. :-o

You know, I think I missed my calling. I should have one of those Travel Channel jobs. I can do anything Andrew Zimmern or Bear Grylls can do...and I'm sexier!

Tinks, assuming it is an ad, who asked for the all white cast? I don't think a single ad has ever appeared on tv or in print where some pencil pusher did not dictate the exact mix of people.

In reality - living in Negril, although the beach is 'free' it really isn't. I hated the fact that Sundays and public holidays were days when locals came to enjoy 'their' environment. But when it came to occupying seat/sun lounger/bar space with their packed lunches they weren't exactly encouraged by hotel/bar owners to hang around. as a white woman I have been very annoyed if some jamaican has come up to me while i'm sunbathing to chat or hustle and they get chase off by some security guard. it really fucked me off bigstyle. if i want rid of someone - black/white/tourist/non-tourist/hustler-preacher i would prefer to be able to tell them to fornicate without passion off myself cos they are annoying me - not cos I am a hallowed white tourist and need protection from the natives!
I intrigue more people in real life than I do in cyberspace. What I WILL do is to capitalize on their attraction to me.If I set out to take advantage of anyone's attraction, its simply for the benefit of God's kingdom.People such as myself, whether we try or not, will always radiate some kinda attraction that men find alluring.my message to those who find it annoying "Don't hate".

Welcome Will. Negril has plenty to offer from air conditioned brothels to fabulous Las Vegas style casinos and weird attractions like the 14 mile roller coaster ride over the ocean there is something in Negril for everyone. Prices start at just $99 per person per day, if you leave your credit card number and billing address.........

BTW, that mellow-looking Conklin guy in the video is the author of Banana Shout. Hell, I'd be mellow-looking, too, if I vaporized a half pound of high grade every day for the past 40 years! Just thought you should know that.

Eco, put it aside to read on your next flight to Jamaica--it'll "prime the pump," so to speak, for you for the moment your plane lands and you hit the ground running. I enjoyed the book. It's light and entertaining reading, and from time to time I start to re-read it, but usually find my mind drifting from the book to my own memories of my trips to the island. Which is nice. Though a more or less fictional account of Negril in the sixties, it's loosely based on actual events and places, and despite the thinly disguised place names (eg, Nick's Cafe), you'll instantly recognize them.

And if you run out of Rizzlas, you can tear out pages you've read to use as rolling papers! :jestercolor:

That is one great travel Destination. one of my dreams is to go to a place where it has that kind of weather, beaches, waters and atmosphere. Can't belive people are going over there to get drunk and party all nights , sleep all days, but they forget all the beautiful parts of the island, the natural ones!
