Underground Churches in Jamaica

Postby ECO » Wed Nov 11, 2009 6:08 pm

While doing my once a day search for Jamaican news on Google I found an article and video about underground gay churches in Jamaica. Help me connect the dots, I can't understand why gays need their own church to worship in. Assuming they are still in the closet about being gay, can't they just worship in a regular church? Also, being in the house of god with 50 other gay people is a giant risk if someone with an evil mind discovers the church.

Laughing my ass off at the "tags" they used for the article. :rolling: What they heck is a "glass closet"?

There is a Church in Nanoose Bay that has been around for a hundred years and resonantly its congregation split in 2 over a gay rights issue and I don’t think it’s right.

I have wondered why JAB doesn’t have a add tags feature (like on post and replies) Cheers!

Where is that savoir of the sidewalk life and the road that takes us to the crusades? We still got along way to go yes we still got a along way to go.

We have a couple gay friendly churches around here with the rainbow flags and such since I don't go to them I'm not sure if they are independent or if they are still part of one of the larger faiths. I'm sure the members don't give a rats @ss and I doubt the pastor does either so long as he gets his paycheck.

Nanoose, we don't use tags since Google does a good job figuring out what our threads are about and if you use tags that are not on topic for the thread it's sort of a no-no with Google.

I think they have their own church so they don't have to listen to how they are going to burn in hell for their homosexuality. As much as they are ostracized, it makes sense that they would want to congregate and support each other in their own church.

That makes sense. I was not aware that churches still preached that stuff but thinking back I think the video said something along those lines.

WOW!!!!

I assumed it was because they were Christians who wanted to worship without fear of physical attack....

Lol, go to a Southern Baptist church they remind everyone every Sunday about how they are going to burn in hell unless they do this and that. Those people think everyone is going to burn in hell unless they are "reborn". :bs:

I think the no religion policy on the forum was to keep myself in line........
