Gay penguins break up over affair
A POPULAR gay penguin couple have broken up after a lonely widowed female penguin courted one of them in her ex-partner's burrow at a zoo.

Male Magellan penguins Harry and Pepper have been together since 2003 at the San Francisco Zoo.

The pair nested together and even incubated an egg laid by another penguin in 2008, but their relationship hit the rocks earlier this year when a female penguin, Linda, befriended Harry after her long-time companion died.

This did not go over well with Pepper, who became violent. The three penguins were separated for some time following the fight.

"They have been doing okay since,” said Zookeeper Jennifer Katz. “They have been getting along okay. But Pepper is by himself now, so we are keeping an eye on the three of them."

Of all of the parents that year, they were the best. They took very good care of their chick," Brown told the San Francisco Examiner in a story published Saturday.

Enter the widow Linda, who began courting Harry in her partner's old burrow shortly after his death this past winter, Brown said.

"To be completely anthropomorphizing, Linda seems conniving," Zookeeper Anthony Brown said. "She's got her plan. I don't think she was wanting to be a single girl for too long."

Though Harry and Linda have been nesting in recent months, molting season in late summer tends to reshuffle couples, KTVU-TV reported Sunday.

"It'll be interesting to see if Harry spends any of that time with Pepper," Brown said. "We'll have to wait and see."

Shopping for airfare all day to save a dollar The prices range from $330-$500+ for basically the same flight times and the same crappy low class seats........until I find someone who just followed us on Twitter and their price is $31,340. I just about fell out of my chair until I noticed that they are quoting JMD (Jamaica) and it works out to be $355.11. So 3 days ago I parked my van in Maine and my step mother asked me why I don't take my GPS unit off of my dashboard......like I tell everyone else, it's a piece of crap and I wish someone would steal it. Today I returned to my van and not a single item was missing from it except for the GPS unit and it's power cord. I laughed my asss off once I discovered that not even my checkbook or credit cards were taken.

THE proposal to bar smelly people from Honolulu buses turned out to be a stinker.
Hawaii's Honolulu City Council had considered making it illegal to have "odors that unreasonably disturb others or interfere with their use of the transit system.''

Anyone convicted of being too smelly could have been fined up to $US500 ($A595.59) and/or given a six-month jail term.

But officials and others wrinkled their noses at the plan during a hearing on Thursday.

Lawyers from the city and the American Civil Liberties Union said it was vague and could lead to unconstitutionally subjective judgments.

Members of the public pointed out that bad odors could be produced by disease, or be carried from a person's workplace.
