What to pack and what not to expect at the Vancouver Olympic

Bermuda shorts and sun bloke will be a must at the 2010 winter Olympics because it’s going to be sunny and warm. But if your ticket for the skiing event gets cancelled because of lack of snow don’t aspect to be able to put your Bermuda shorts on and walk around the sea wall in Stanley park because part of it has been blocked off because of the possibility of an act of terrorism. If your walking threw the Vancouver down town area and an RCMP officer asks to search your back pack don’t expect them to produce a search warrant and don’t expect that a full body search won’t be necessary to prove that your not a terrorist. (actually I’m not sure about that part but wouldn’t put it past them)
If you expect to see any hard working families holding free tickets to the events don’t because all the free tickets were given to politicians and big business owners.
If you expect to be able to walk along the shipping docks late – late at night and talk to sailors – don’t its not blocked off it just might not be a good thing to do.
If you expect to be able to watch Vancouver street performers singing and dancing don’ because during the games it’s band..
If you expect to have a glimpse of the face of poverty in Vancouver don’t because it was wiped clean 2 months when the RCMP started rounding the Vancouver homeless up and giving them a ride to Surrey. And if your at the games and you wonder if my taxes will be going up to help pay for the whole mess – I expect that you would be right. Cheers!

They should've held the 2010 Winter Olympics here in Wash. DC...we got enough friggin' snow for it!
