Stopped off at Clarke Brothers (http://clarkbrosguns.com/) on my way to central Va this morning, just to browse. Been a dozen years, probably more, since I last stopped off there (even tho I've passed it probably no less than 200 times in the past year and half). OMG the prices! The place was packed, as it always seems to be. I luv that frickin bear on the roof. They dress it up in a Santa costume at X-mas time.

If you've never stopped off at Clark Brothers. a visit there can be a likkle unnerving. When I pulled in this morning and stepped from my car, I immediately hit the deck, with my nose pressed to the asphalt of the parking lot, till I realized the loud cracks of gunfire were coming from the shooting range at the rear of the building. For a second there, I thought my old GF's husband (while I briefly resided in Warrenton) had finally tracked me down!

I miss my shooting range in Virginia....basically any window or from my front porch. From time to time I would go to an underground one in West Virginia to shoot my .270 with sabet rounds (.25 bullets with plastic around them that breaks off giving the .25 a MV of 3200 or 4000fps).

I was only at Clark Bros. for 10-15 minutes--a gun porn quickie, so to speak--but I saw at least a half dozen models and calibers, any one of which I would've bought on the spot if only I had $1,000-$1,700 to spare in my pocket. But then if I had that kind of pocket change, I'd be spending it on my next trip to Jamaica.
