Why do all my potatoes look like Richard Nixon?

Postby Nanoose » Sat Aug 20, 2011 8:47 pm

If I had a nickel for every potato I grew that looked like Richard Nixon I would have a ¼ of a Loonie.
I have probably grown a ton of potatoes in my life and they don’t all look like Nixon but every time I notice one that looks like a person it’s always Richard Nixon.
Seems kind of weird to me – like why wouldn’t I find a potato that looks like Dolly Parton or Queen Elisabeth instead of Richard Nixon all the time?
Not too sure about this part but sometimes I think the potatoes are trying to tell me something (sort of like when that guy kept making a mountain out of his mash potatoes then had an alien encounter).
There are a lot of things I liked about Nixon but not enough to grow potatoes that look like him.
Cheers and happy weekend!

Nanoose, a lot of Jamaican veggies and fruits come in strange shapes, too--don't affect the flavor one iota.

I actually saw Richard Nixon once while he was president, when I was stationed at MCAS El Toro in southern California. My squadron was on the flight line right next to the spot where he embarked/disembarked on his trips to the area, and I was on duty the day of one of his visits and watched as he disembarked, waving to the crowd that had assembled to greet him. I didn't care a whole lot for Nixon at the time, but I'd take him in a heartbeat over a few of the presidents we've had since.

Well my Nixon potatoes are a little more then just odd shaped it’s almost like the Nixon features are chiseled into the potato.
Maybe the potatoes are trying to tell me that Nixon should be chiseled into Mt. Rushmore. Which would be kind of weird because I have no clue on how to go about starting a project like that.
In a round about way Richard Nixon got me a "date” for the evening. He arranged a nuclear test and I knew there would be a lot of hippy chicks at the protest. Cheers!
