Just when I was thinking I was getting old or something and love had passed me by, I stopped off at a likkle mom & pop store after work one day this past week for a likkle liquid refreshment. Same place I mentioned in another post where everybody stops off to throw they money away on lottery tickets. This day, when I entered the store, there was a lady I hadn't seen before in the checkout line--tall, classy-looking, looked like the Mohogany Beach gal in
Wah Do Dem.

She had been purchasing lottery tickets but left the checkout line for some reason.
I was next in line when she returned and started to get in line behind me.
"No, please," I said to her, "you finish up...you were before me when I came in."
"You don't mind?" she asked, then switched places with me in line when I moved aside to let her around (it's a small store, with little room to manuever in the checkout line).
She finished buying her lottery tickets and thanked me again as she turned to leave for letting her ahead of me. "Good luck!" I called out to her as she headed to the exit.
When I exited the store with my "refreshments," she rolled her car window down and called out to me, "If I win, I'm coming back to look for you or ask about getting in touch with you."
"I'll probably be here," I replied. "Win big!"
In retrospect, I wish I'd told her that I'd settle right then and there on her buying me a beer at the nearest local bar of her choosing.
